About the Project

The Undocumented Student Educational Equity Project (USEP) is dedicated to conducting rigorous empirical research to ensure that universities effectively meet the needs of undocumented students and to inform institutional policy and practice.

USEP was founded at the University of California, Irvine in 2015 as a collaborative effort among undocumented and allied undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty. It continues as an active collaboration that now extends beyond our own campus to inform institutional policy and support the professional development of emerging undergraduate and graduate scholar-activists.

This website is an effort to make our research accessible to the broader public within and outside of academia. We hope that our research helps others in their efforts to create more equitable educational experiences for undocumented students.

Our Findings

We aim to use our research findings to inform institutional policy and practice. We feature our findings through a variety of outlets to maximize their impact and achieve this goal.
